Eurorack experiments, September 2016. Utilizing field recordings made in Berlin and Mexico in 2016, piezo-through-modular, and prototype Eurorack modules.
A late-night workout with Eurorack and Ableton Live / Push 2, as I further explore integration of Push 2 in to my modular paradigm. I really like the ability to use the modular as a fluid sound source, rather than a monolithic musical instrument.
The first three tracks re-engineered for a best-of micronaut collection that was abandoned. "function two" is a rebuild of "function," off of the fifth and final micronaut LP, Callisto. "ribofunk redux" is a remix of "ribofunk," off of the eponymous first micronaut release, and "pressure" is an unreleased track from before micronaut existed.
"Young as it is, this child, we already recognize that it possesses one radiant attribute which signalizes it beyond all its elder sisters. And the lawgivers will not see this marvelous attribute, lest their laws should be thrown to the winds. This child—it floats on air! It touches not the earth with its feet. It knows no law of gravitation. It is well nigh incorporeal. Its material is transparent. It is sonorous air. It is almost Nature herself. It is—free!"

Cassette loops, a 50-year-old Nagra III reel-to-reel, field recordings, vinyl sampling, vintage analog and modern modular synths, and the very latest in electronic music making software technology all combine forces in the service of a modern take on anachronistic production methodologies. From smooth to squelchy, and from scattershot breakbeat to straight four-on-the-floor, this album is a homage to the history of modern electronic music. credits released June 22, 2014
